Adam Evanoff and Brodan Salmond have evolved into a stellar one-two punch for the Moose Jaw Warriors this season.

The duo showed how well they're playing during the Warriors' recent seven-game road trip where they helped the team to a 6-0-1 record.

"We're very confident in both of them," said Warriors captain Josh Brook. "They played awesome, they battled on every puck and there wasn't a weak goal let in during the whole road trip, it was awesome."

Evanoff started four of the seven games, posting four wins with one shutout. He finished with a 1.50 goals against average and a 0.949 save percentage.

Salmond went 2-0-1, which included a 5-1 win over his former team, the Kelowna Rockets. He posted a 1.32 goals against average and a 0.945 save percentage in his three games.

"The team has been helping us out, they've been making our job quite easy, scoring lots of goals and giving us breathing room," said Evanoff.

Both goalies sit within the top-eight in the WHL for goals against average and Evanoff is also seventh in the league in save percentage.

The 20-year-old Salmond and 18-year-old Evanoff have a friendly competition that allows them to help each other out and push each other as well.

"Adam and I have a real good relationship, we're roommates on the road and we just support each other, and whoever's in net, the team knows that we have a chance to win," said Salmond, who’s in his final WHL season.

"Obviously you want to play as much as you can, but whoever is in net, we're going to support one and other."

Both goalies are pleased with the role that they're on right now, but want to keep the focus on the team success.

"Things are going well for me personally, but it's just from team success, the team is doing really well, we're really buying in and this is our squad now after the trade deadline, so it's been good, we're buying in together and it's showing on the ice," said Evanoff.

The Warriors' successful road trip has the team brimming with confidence as they prepare to return to home ice on Friday night to host the Medicine Hat Tigers, who Moose Jaw beat 3-1 last Saturday at Canalta Centre.

Salmond said the team grew much closer during their 14 days on the road together.

"We just bought into our system and everyone played hard right from the top of the lineup down to the bottom, it was a good two-week road trip, we did some team bonding as well, so it was a lot of fun," he said.

"Winning makes everything better, always, so especially on a road trip like that, those are tough points to get on the road and it helped build our chemistry in the locker room."

The Warriors enter the weekend sitting three points behind the Saskatoon Blades for second place in the East Division.
