There wasn’t much offence to be had on Sunday night in the Queen City Box Lacrosse League’s midget division final, but the Moose Jaw Mustangs put together just enough.

Moose Jaw picked up a 3-2 win over the Regina Rock to capture the QCMBL championship at the Al Ritchie Arena in Regina.

Quinn Ingalls opened the scoring for Moose Jaw midway through the first period and he would score the only goal in the third period to lift the Mustangs to the title.

Ingalls had two goals and three points in the win, while Brody Sims had the other goal for Moose Jaw.

The Mustangs will now try to finish off their season with a provincial title with the provincial tournament being held July 8-10 in Regina.

Peewee Mustangs Take Silver

The Moose Jaw Peewee Mustangs came up just short in their championship final on Friday night, falling 6-5 to the Regina Rush in the final.

The Rush came out strong and took a 3-2 lead after one and then they went in front by two after the second period, which ended up being just enough to capture the win.

Davin Williams, Brennan Patterson, captain Braxton MacAngus, Liam Fitzpatrick and Ethan Storozuk all scored in the loss for Moose Jaw.

The Mustangs will also be at provincials in two weeks in Regina looking to avenge this loss.

The Bantam Mustangs will go for a bronze medal on Monday when they face the Regina Bandits at 6:30 p.m.
