SaskEnergy Hockey Day In Saskatchewan is right around the corner as we turn the calendar to 2012 this weekend.

The Saskatchewan Hockey Association's Mike Jensen says the event, which will be held on January 21s, keeps getting bigger each year, "This year our host community is going to be Melville and they're going to be raising money for their brand new facility that they just built.

"There's going to be games going on all day long all the way from the littlest of kids to Junior A."

While Melville is the host community, Jensen says they encourage every community around the province to put on their own Hockey Day In Saskatchewan events, "They can be putting on anything from hockey games all day long, events for the kids, cabarets, they can have a dance, anything they like to try and raise money for their community."

The WHL's Youth Experience Contest coincides with Hockey Day and the deadline to enter is New Year's Eve.  Click here for more information and to enter.
