The Moose Jaw Warriors received some very good news on Monday morning.

Captain Brett Howden was re-assigned to the Warriors by the Tampa Bay Lightning after spending the past two weeks at their training camp.

Howden appeared in two preseason games with the Lightning, registering one assist.

In 58 games last season with the Warriors, Howden posted 38 goals and 81 points. He has 192 points in 199 games during his three seasons in Moose Jaw.

The 19-year-old will rejoin the Warriors this week ahead of a pair of home games this weekend as Moose Jaw plays host to Regina on Friday and Red Deer on Saturday.

With Howden returning, all seven Warriors that attended training camps with NHL teams have rejoined the team. Josh Brook is out for the next 8-12 weeks after having surgery on his wrist on Friday in Montreal.
