Thursday night was a good night for the Caronport Cougars in High School Senior Volleyball action at Vanier Collegiate.  Both their boys and girls squads picked up wins in hard fought matches.

The girls game had the Cougars knocking off the Spirits in five tightly contested sets.  The first one went to Caronport, 25-20, but Vanier battled back to take the second set, 28-26.  The third was another close battle with the Cougars coming out on top 25-23.  The scores were reversed in the fourth with Vanier winning, 25-23, to force the fifth and deciding set, which Caronport took handedly, 25-17.

Caronport had a little easier time in the boys game with it taking only four sets for them to pick up the win.  Vanier came out and took the opening game, 26-24, before the Cougars cruised to an easy 25-16 second set win.  The two teams battled in the third with Caronport coming out on top 30-28 and they would seal the win with a 25-22 win in the fourth set.

The next Senior Volleyball action is coming up on Tuesday with boys and girls games at Vanier, Central and out in Caronport.
