Moose Jaw will be well represented at the 2014 SaskTel Men's Tankard provincial curling championship in two weeks.

After this weekend's Southern Men's Championship in Regina, there will be three rinks with Moose Jaw connections heading to the Tankard in Shaunavon, which gets underway on January 29th.

Joel Jordison took the long way to clinch a spot in the Tankard, beating William Coutts 6-4 in the C final on Sunday to advance.  Jordison had made it into the A event semifinal, but lost to Swift Current's Max Kirkpatrick, 7-5, on Friday.

That put him into the B event where he beat Justin Mihalicz, 7-6, on Saturday afternoon and then lost to Regina Callie's Randy Bryden, 10-1, sending him to the Tankard and focring Jordison to beat Coutts on Sunday to advance.  All he needed was deuces in the second, fourth and sixth to hold on for the win.

Brent Gedak with Moose Jaw's Derek Owens serving as second, won the A final, 10-9, over Kirkpatrick on Saturday afternoon.  Kirkpatrick would go onto claim one of the two B event spots with a 10-5 win over Josh Heidt.

Moose Jaw's Brock Montgomery and the Heidt rink would end up also advancing thanks to a 7-6 win over Jamie Schneider on Sunday in the other C final.  Heidt withstood a late charge from Schneider that include two in the eighth and steal of one in the ninth.
