Skyler and Carson Ackerman each picked up a win on Thursday to improve their records to 2-0 at their respective junior provincials.

Skyler won 8-3 over Saskatoon Sutherland’s Ashley Thevenot, while Carson picked up a 7-5 win over fellow Moose Javian Brett Behm and the Brandon Myers rink, who dropped to 0-2 with the loss.

In other local action on Day 2 at provincials, Moose Jaw’s James Barkway, Daniel Mutlow and the Chad Lang rink dropped a narrow 5-4 decision to Saskatoon Sutherland’s Rylan Kleiter.

On the women’s side, Moose Jaw’s Kaitlyn Corbin lost 7-4 to Saskatoon Sutherland’s Jessica Mitchell, falling to 0-2 for the championship.

Craik’s Hayley Spencer and the Jessica Thompson rink out of Saskatoon Granite are sitting at 0-2 after suffering a 12-4 loss to Saskatoon Sutherland’s Hanna Anderson.

The round robin continues on Friday for both the men’s and women’s event and will wrap up on Saturday morning leading into the playoffs this weekend.
