The Moose Jaw Mallards put together a dominating performance with a 12-2 win over the White Butte Broncos on Monday night at Swarbrick Diamond.

The win improves the Mallards' record to 9-7 overall in Baseball Regina's Bantam AA Division.

"We hit the ball tonight, we haven't been lately, but it's come around in the last couple of games. We made all the plays in the field that we need to make and the pitching was also really good tonight," said Mallards shortstop Evan Callaghan after the win.

Callaghan led the offensive attack for the Mallards in the win as he finished 3-for-3 with three doubles and two RBI.

In total, the Mallards belted 13 hits over the course of six innings to break out offensively in the victory. Four of those hits were of the extra base variety.

"We're getting better, but we've had our ups and downs," said Callaghan. "Overall, we're learning and it's improving us, so it's been good.

"We just have to stay focused during the game, when we get unfocused, that's when we start to play bad, so we've always just got to be ready."

Kaedyn Banilevic earned the win on the mound for the Mallards, as he threw four innings, allowing two runs on four hits with four strikeouts. He also went 1-for-3 with two runs scored at the plate to help his cause

Cole Breitkreuz held the Broncos off the board over the final two innings, striking out two and walking one. He finished 1-for-2 with a double, a run scored, a stole base and two RBI in the win.

The Mallards are coming off a 3-2 weekend at the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Tournament. They lost their first two games, but bounced back to win the final three and take the 'C' side.

"Our first couple of games, the bats weren't really going our way, but we battled through it and ended up winning the last three, so that was pretty good," said Callaghan.

"We improved over the weekend, it was a good building weekend."

The Mallards have a busy end to the week ahead as they will host the Saskatoon Blue Jays on Friday night at Swarbrick Diamond and then they welcome in the Swift Current 57s on Saturday for a doubleheader.
