It was a largely successful weekend for a pair of Mavericks teams.

The U15 Mavericks split a pair of games this weekend with Weyburn.

They won 8-3 at home Friday and then lost 5-4 in Weyburn Saturday.

Friday, Kaydance Ray was a force, scoring four goals and three assists, with Jenika Stevenson scoring twice. Arlie Fleet and Morgan Loney each scored singles, with Sara Umana getting the win in net. Saturday, Ray scored twice, with Katryna Mattern and Kiana Hrechka scoring singles. Umana went the distance in net.

Next on the agenda for the U15 Mavericks is a weekend home and home with the Swift Current Colts.

The U13 Mavericks won both of their games on the weekend. They beat the Parkland Fire 6-2 at the Kinsmen Arena Saturday and then won 5-2 over the Fire in Melville.

Saturday, Jayden Babich scored a hat trick on home ice. Danielle Greenough, Addison Lamb and Keianna MacDonald each added a goal. Callie Bell picked up the win in net. Sunday, the Warriors’ Zoey Chesney scored a pair, with Mikaela Stephanson, Jewel Schmidt and Tristyn Smith adding singles. Bell picked up the win between the pipes.

Their schedule has a home and home with the Weyburn Gold Wings this weekend.

Moose Jaw’s Nikita Halyk scored twice for the Milestone Flyers in their 3-3 tie with the Southwest Cyclones in U18 A girls hockey action Saturday, with the city’s Ember DuSomme picking up the other goal. DuSomme scored a goal and an assist in their 5-3 win Sunday over the Cyclones. The Flyers have a pair of games this weekend against the Prairie Storm Lightning.
