Warriors captain Kendall McFaull

The Moose Jaw Warriors might be young coming into the 2012-13 WHL season, but they will be led by a strong leadership core as the captains for the upcoming were announced on Thursday night.

20-year-old defenceman, and fourth year Warrior, Kendall McFaull will wear the “C” for a second straight year.  McFaull is solid, defensive, defenceman for the Warriors and a leader both on and off the ice.

His assistants will be two defenceman and a forward with Joel Edmundson, Morgan Rielly and Jordan Wyton all getting an "A" sown on to their jerseys for the upcoming season.

Edmundson is entering his third year with the Warriors and will once again be a leader on the backend for the tribe.  He was drafted in the second round of the 2011 NHL Draft by the St. Louis Blues.

Rielly will also be going into his third year on the Warriors.  He is expected to power the Warriors offence with his playmaking abilities from the defenceman spot.  Rielly became the highest drafted Warrior in history during offseason when he was taken fifth overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2012 NHL Draft.

Wyton is the lone forward in the bunch and his hard working style fits in the Warrior mold perfectly.  In two seasons, Wyton has seven goals, 30 points and 193 penalty minutes in 140 games.  

The Warriors open their season on Friday night against the Swift Current Broncos at Mosaic Place.  Tune into Country 100 for all action, staring with the pre-game show at 6:40pm.
