The Moose Jaw Midget AA Warriors snapped a four-game winless skid on Tuesday night when they skated to a 5-2 win over the Lumsden/Bethune Lions in the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League.

It was a consistent effort for the Warriors as they scored in all three periods on the way to the win.

Taylor Blackmore opened the scoring for Moose Jaw only 3:36 into the game, but Lumsden was able to answer back quickly with Chase Zurowski scoring to tie the game just two minutes later.

The Warriors went back in front with 3:48 to play in the first when Keegan Hall scored his third of the season.

Moose Jaw was able to take full control in the second period. Brogan Townsend scored just before the midway point of the frame to make it 3-1 and Mason Kurz added a power play goal with 2:38 left in the second to put the Warriors in front by three.

Garrick Ward iced the game in the third period with his fourth goal of the season.

Moose Jaw goalie Garrett Goy turned away 38 shots to backstop the Warriors to the win, while Moose Jaw put 33 shots on the Lions’ net.

The win improves the Warriors’ record to 4-13-1 on the year. They will be back on the ice on Thursday to host the Prairie Storm, puck drops at 7:30 p.m. at the Bert Hunt Arena.

Also coming up on Thursday, the Bantam AA Warriors travel to Regina to take on the Pat Blues at 8:15 p.m. and the Peewee AA Warriors are in Swift Current to battle the Broncos at 5:45 p.m.
