The Moose Jaw Midget AAA Warriors lost their final game of the pre-season 7-2 to the Regina Pat Canadians last night.

The Warriors had a few of their players out with minor injuries for the game but they should be back by the time the regular season gets underway.

“We had a few guys out,” said Warriors head coach Trevor Weisgerber. “We have some guys that are banged up, so we just want to make sure we’re all rested up and ready to go for next Friday when we start up. Some of these guys were getting rest, but everyone should be good.”

With the loss, the Warriors weren't able to repeat the magic that helped them win four preseason games in a row. Weisgerber said Regina came out hard off the bat and put his team on their heels.

“Right from the beginning, they did a good job and we couldn’t get anything going throughout the whole night,” said Weisgerber.

He said they’d be putting some work in in practice next week and the loss may well be humbling.

The Warriors will start their regular season September 27th in Warman against the Tisdale Trojans at the Saskatchewan midget AAA Hockey League showcase.
