The Moose Jaw Midget Mustangs will be playing for gold this weekend after advancing to the Queen City Box Lacrosse League final.

Moose Jaw knocked off Standing Buffalo, 3-1, on Thursday night to advance to the championship game, which will go on Sunday at the Al Ritchie Arena in Regina.

The Mustangs finished third in the regular season standings at 8-4, finishing one point behind Standing Buffalo, who were second after posting an 8-3-1 record.

The final will see Moose Jaw take the Regina Rock, who upset the Honeybadgers in the semifinals.

Chiefs Host Game 1 of PGLL Final

The Moose Jaw Chiefs will kick-off the Prairie Gold Lacrosse League’s senior division final on their home court on Friday night.

The defending champion Chiefs host the Saskatoon Brewers at the Kinsmen Arena at 8 p.m.

The Brewers were 3-1 against Moose Jaw in the regular season, including winning their final two meetings up in the Bridge.

Game 1 of the final series goes Friday and then Game 2 is on Sunday at 5 p.m. in Saskatoon.  If necessary, a mini-game will be played after Game 2 to decide a winner.
