The Moose Jaw Midget AA Mavericks didn’t have a good showing against the Swift Current Broncos in the South Saskatchewan Female Hockey League on Wednesday.

Moose Jaw travelled to Swift Current and lost 8-2 to the Broncos.

Swift Current held just a 1-0 lead after one and Moose Jaw’s Chelsey De Gagne was able to tie the game up only 43 seconds into the second period, but five straight goals from the Broncos after that blew the game wide open.

Kaelyn Logan-Pemkowski scored a shorthanded goal for the Mavericks with 3:03 to go in the second, but they wouldn’t be able to mount a third period comeback.

The Broncos scored twice more in the third to skate to the win.

The loss puts Moose Jaw’s record at 4-11-0 on the year. They’re back on the ice on Saturday to host the Weyburn Drillers at the Kinsmen Arena, puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
