It was a shootout early, but the Moose Jaw Miller Express kept rolling on Friday night in Okotoks.

The Millers returned the favour on the Dawgs for Thursday's 11-4 defeat by knocking off Okotoks 14-7 on Friday at Seaman Stadium.

The Dawgs led 5-3 after three; the game was tied at 6-6 heading into the sixth; and the Millers took over in the seventh, scoring eight runs in the final three innings to secure the win.

Shortstop Scott Platt hit a lead-off home run in the top of the third for his first bomb of the season. He went 3-for-5 with an RBI out of the nine-hole spot for the Millers.

Moose Jaw's outfield had a great day at the plate with right fielder Robbie McKinney going 1-for-3 with three RBI, while centerfielder Travis Able and left fielder Pate Katechis each drove in two. Katechis and first baseman Ben Dalke each had three hits.

Every Millers' hitter picked up an RBI in the game and they also walked five times.

Millers' starter Bo Sheridan surrendered six runs on eight hits over five innings to pick up the win. He struck out five and walked two.

A night after coughing up a late lead with a nine-run eighth inning, the Millers' bullpen was lights out again to help pick up the win as Grant Westmoreland and D.J. Martinez combined for three shutout innings of two-hit ball. Westmoreland struck out three.

Carter Sorenson gave up a run on three hits in the ninth inning to close out the game.

Moose Jaw chased Okotoks starter Justin Vernia after four innings. He allowed five runs on seven hits with two strikeouts and one walk. The Millers tagged the Dawgs' bullpen for nine runs on nine hits over the final five innings.
