On a night when they were honouring Moose Jaw's baseball past, the Miller Express showed that the future is looking bright as well.

The Millers improved to 12-8 on the year with a 4-3 win over the Eastern Division rival Swift Current 57s at Ross Wells Park on Saturday night.

Swift Current scored their three runs in the fifth inning to jump out to a 3-0 lead, but as has been accustom over the past few weeks, Moose Jaw continued to battle and had their bats wake up in the seventh inning, scoring four runs for the win.

A lead-off single from first baseman Ben Dalke got the inning started. A walk from right fielder Pate Katechis and another single from catcher Zach Fascia loaded up the bases with one out. Second baseman Joshmar Doran came through for Moose Jaw, smacking a single to score a pair.

Another walk from third baseman Lane Harvey loaded the bases again for the top of the order with centerfielder Travis Able bringing around a run with a single to tie the game before designated hitter Cole Warken drove in the winning run at the end of the inning.

Able was thrown out trying to score from second base, leaving the game at 4-3 heading into the eighth.

Moose Jaw's bullpen came up huge again to seal the win with Travis Edgar striking out two for a quick eighth and then Fascia moved from behind the plate to the mound to shut the door in the ninth for the save, striking out one.

Hunter Kloke got the start for the Millers and allowed three runs on two hits over five innings. He struckout three and walked six, four of which came in the fifth as Swift Current took advantage to get on the board.

D.J. Martinez earned the win on the mound, striking out one, walking two and allowing just one hit over two innings of work.

Swift Current starter Matt Michalski was cruising until the seventh inning and ended up surrendering three runs on five hits with six strikeouts and two walks in 6 1/3 innings.

The Millers have now won four of their last five games, but remain two games back of the Regina Red Sox for top spot in the Eastern Division.

The week wraps up for the Millers on Sunday when they travel to Yorkton to take on the Cardinals at Jubilee Park. First pitch is at 2:05 p.m.
