Moose Jaw's Skylar Ackerman put together two lopsided wins on Friday at the 2019 Canada Winter Games Provincial Trials in North Battleford.

The Ackerman rink scored a 7-2 win over Emily Haupstein in the afternoon and then cruised to a 10-3 win over Brooklyn Fahl in the night draw to sit at 3-1 after two days of competition.

Ackerman used deuces in the first and third ends to jump out to an early 4-1 lead on Haupstein. After the Weyburn team scored one more in the fourth, Ackerman responded with three straight singles to secure the win.

In the night match-up with Fahl, Ackerman turned things on in the fourth end, scoring three to move in front 4-1. Fahl answered with two in the fifth, but Ackerman came right back with three in the sixth and a steal of three more in the seventh.

The local team will close out the round robin on Saturday morning against Taylor Stremick at 9 a.m.
