Three classes have went into the Moose Jaw and District Sports Hall of Fame and now they’re starting their search for the fourth group of illustrious local athletes.

The Hall of Fame’s board of directors is accepting nominations for the Class of 2018.

They’re looking for the best that Moose Jaw has had to offer in the sporting world.

“We want to be able to induct people from Moose Jaw and District that have done well, we want them to have accomplished things in their area beyond the local level at the provincial or national level and some of our previous inductees have had international success,” said Bob Symenuk, MJDSHF board member.

The 2017 induction class featured the likes of Brian Towriss, Ryan Anholt, Rod Heisler, Steve Michaluk, Dr. Graeme McMaster and the 1995 Master Relics.

Moose Jaw’s sports history is rich and Symenuk said there isn’t shortage of athletes that deserve inclusion in the hall, which is now four years old.

“The board of directors has done some brainstorming on potential candidates and there’s a pretty lengthy list of folks out there that could easily qualify as worthy athletes,” he said.

There has been 11 different sports represented in the first three induction classes.

The nomination deadline is Apr. 30 and you can find the nomination form at mjdshf.com.
