Cornerstone Christian School played host to a pair of games on Monday night in the Moose Jaw High School Junior Basketball League.

In the junior varsity girls division, the Cornerstone Falcons scored a 63-52 win over the Central Butte Bulldogs to improve to 7-0 this season. 

Trista Lang scored 20 points in the win for the Falcons, while Eva Gray finished with 12. For Central Butte, Desrae Miller led all scorers with 21 points.

The Bulldogs are second in the division with a 4-2 record.

The Cornerstone/Riverview Royals also rolled to a 62-29 win over the Assiniboia Rockets. The Royals sit at 4-2 this season in the junior varsity boys division, while the Rockets fall to 1-4 in the junior boys division.

Zach Beitel had 12 points in the win for the Royals, while Jesse Jwell scored 18 of Assiniboia’s 29 points in the loss.

In other junior boys action, the Vanier Vikings pulled off an 88-55 win over the Central Butte Bulldogs. Carl Martel had a game-high 36 points for Central Butte in the loss.

Vanier is now 5-1, while Central Butte falls to 1-5.

Also, the Central Red Cyclones pulled off a 54-38 win over the Peacock Orange Toilers in junior boys action. Central Red is 4-3, while Peacock Orange drops to 0-7.

The Vanier Spirits won 49-29 over the Peacock Orange Toilers in the junior girls division. Vanier improves to 4-3, while Peacock Orange is 0-7.

The junior basketball league is back on the court on Wednesday for six games.
