Normally by early May, soccer fields in Moose Jaw would be full of kids playing the game.

But this year, Moose Jaw Soccer is among many groups putting a pause on the 2020 season. They're still accepting registrations for the spring season but aren't asking for payment at this point.

MJSA chairman James Booth said they are following the directive from the Canadian Soccer Association when it comes to the spring season.

"Right now we have another meeting with them (CSA) and Saskatchewan Soccer next week sometime to find out what they're overall plans are," Booth said. "Right now they're just waiting to hear more updates from the government to hear what we can do and what we can't do and go from there."

If they do get the OK from the national and provincial soccer authorities, they would like to have a season at some point.

As of right now, it's uncertain what kind of outdoor provincial rep soccer season will be allowed to take place.  Last season began in late May for the U13, U15 and U17 girls and boys teams.
