The City of Regina unveiled the first drawings of the City's proposed new multi-purpose stadium to built at Evraz Place and serve as the new home to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The City wanted to give people an idea of what can be done with the $278-million available for the project.

A big win for the Vanier Vikings on Wednesday in High School Boys Soccer action at Gutheridge Field.  They rolled over the Riverview/Cornerstone Royals, 7-1.

Next action for the Boys league isn't until Monday when the Royals are back on the pitch against the Central Cyclones.

The Girls League is hosting the 12th annual Soccerfest this weekend with 16 teams coming to town for the tournament.

Another score from Tuesday's High School Football action as the Peacock Tornadoes came up just short in Yorkton, losing 28-21 to the Raiders.

Saturday is a busy day in High School Football with three games, including two at Gutheridge Field involving all three Moose Jaw teams.  Vanier takes on Peacock at 1:00pm, while Central will be on the field against Estevan at 3:30pm.

There will be no NHL preseason games in Regina and Saskatoon later this month.  The league cancelled all 61 preseason games on the schedule through September 30th.

That includes the September 27th game between the Edmonton Oilers and New York Islanders in Regina and the Sept. 29 game between the Winnipeg Jets and Boston Bruins in Saskatoon.

The New York Yankees swept a day-night doubleheader against the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium.

The Yanks took Game 1, 4-2, and then squeaked out a 2-1 win in the second game.

They finish off their three-game series on Thursday.
