Moose Jaw's Candace Newkirk and her rink are back after a disappointing loss in the Quarterfinals of the Travelers Curling Club Championship.

Her rink fell 9-0 in the quarters to Northern Ontario on Friday in Ottawa.

Despite the loss, she is still proud of what she and her rink accomplished.

"Well the experience was good. Just to know that we can curl, it really helped with our confidence. It was nerve-racking, especially with the live stream and putting on mics. I think we represented Saskatchewan well though."

Despite going 4-2 in the round robin, the rink fell 9-0 to Northern Ontario in the Quarterfinal and Newkirk explained where things went wrong.

"We never had the opportunity to curl on that sheet of ice and the night before, they had sandpapered the rocks to make them curl more. It was quite a challenge, then when you fall behind, you need to take chances that you normally wouldn't do."

The rink representing Ontario went on to win the Women's event.
