The Moose Jaw Novice Mustangs already had the provincial title under their belt after this past weekend and they added the Queen City Box Lacrosse League title to haul on Wednesday night.

The Mustangs beat the Regina Snipers 3-2 in the championship final with Mykenzie Shymko scoring the game-winning goal with just 5:40 left in regulation.

Ethan Johnson and Bennett Burns also scored in the win for the Mustangs.

Moose Jaw went 13-1 during league play this season, including a 3-0 mark in the playoffs.

The local lacrosse teams ended up winning the Novice and Peewee Division titles, while finishing second and fourth in the Bantam Division this season.

Coming up this weekend, six local peewee and three bantam players will be suiting up with Team Saskatchewan at the 2017 Canada Day Lacrosse Tournament in Calgary. Click here for the full schedules.
