Eric Arnold picks up after scoring the Teddy Bear Toss goal.

It was always one of the best nights of the year at the Moose Jaw Civic Centre, and the first Teddy Bear Toss night at Mosaic Place didn’t disappoint with the Regina Pats in town.

Warriors rookie import Eric Arnold beat Pats goalie Matt Hewitt midway through the first period to set off the pandemonium in the arena.  The Pats would go onto win the game, but the Salvation Army and underprivileged families in Moose Jaw were the big winners taking four truck loads of bears off the ice.

In total, over 91,000 teddy bears and winter wear was collected across the Western Hockey League in Teddy Bear, and Toque and Mitten Toss Nights.

"The Teddy Bear and other Toss Nights demonstrate how our WHL Clubs continue to support local charitable organizations through unique promotions such as this," commented WHL Commissioner Ron Robison.  "We extend our appreciation to all the WHL Club staff and volunteers as well as our corporate partners who have made it possible for us to support thousands of families and children at this special time of year."
