Peacock Collegiate’s orange team came out on top last night to win the junior girls’ volleyball city championship. 

Peacock faced Central Collegiate’s red team in the championship final, winning in two straight sets 25-22 and 25-21. 

The playoffs opened with Peacock Green downing Central Gold 25-15 and 25-14 to advance to the semifinals. 

Peacock Green’s season would come to an end in the first semifinal, as the girls dropped a 25-3, 25-18 decision to Central Red. 

Meanwhile, in the other semifinal, Peacock Orange defeated Vanier 25-16 and 26-24 for a birth in the finals. 

In JV girls’ action, Assiniboia walked away with the league title. 

Assiniboia started their championship run with a 25-22, 27-25 win over Avonlea/Rouleau in the semifinals.  

In the other semifinal, Cornerstone won over Riverview 25-5, 25-17 it set up the championship final 

Assiniboia would win the first set 25-21 in the championship, but Cornerstone would rebound 25-20 to force a third and deciding set, which Assiniboia would take by a score of 15-11.
