The Moose Jaw Peewee Mustangs added a provincial championship to their trophy case on the weekend.

They won 5-3 over their division rival Swift Current Rampage in the provincial box lacrosse championships in Saskatoon last weekend. Ryder Gilroy scored a pair of goals in the final and Donovan Harkness added a goal and two assists in the final.

They opened the provincials with an 8-3 win over the Saskatoon Sharks.

Harkness scored four goals in the game, while Brodyn Pladson added a pair. Nash Williams picked up three assists.

The Mustangs then took on the Rampage in their next game in the round robin and fell short, 7-4. They fell behind 3-0 early and had to try to play catch up the rest of the way. They had four different goal scorers in the game.

They finished the round robin with an 11-3 win over the Estevan Voltz. Nash Williams scored three, while Gilroy, Pladson and Lochlan Clark scored two each.

That record gave them a berth in the semifinal where they won 7-2 over the Regina Bandits, with seven different players hitting the scoresheet.

Then came the victory on the final against the Rampage.

The bantam Mustangs also won four games in their provincial finals, which took place in Aberdeen. They went 2-1 in their round robin with wins over the Saskatoon Beavers and the Regina Outlaws, before an 11-1 win over the Standing Buffalo Fighting Sioux and a 13-5 win over the Saskatoon Thunder in the consolation final.

The midget Mustangs went 3-2 at their provincials and came out with a bronze medal. They defeated the Saskatoon Seals 4-2 in Saskatoon. Caelan Fitzpatrick scored a pair in the final, and Atley Calvert added a goal and an assist.
