It was one win and one loss for Moose Jaw's two peewee lacrosse teams as they opened their seasons in the South Saskatchewan Lacrosse League over the weekend.

The Peewee Mustangs 1 were rolling offensively in their season opener, beating the Estevan Voltz, 15-7, on Saturday at the Kinsmen Arena.

Brodyn Pladson powered the Mustangs 1 in their win with nine goals and 10 points, he scored all five goals in the first period for the Mustangs as they led 5-3 after one and then extended that lead to 9-4 after tow

Roman Markin added a hat trick and four points, while Nash Williams picked up a goal and two points, and Brooklyn Hrynkiw added the other goal for Moose Jaw.

The Peewee Mustangs 2 also squared off with Estevan for their season opener on Sunday at the Kinsmen. Moose Jaw came out on the losing end in this one, falling 7-4 to the Voltz.

Lachlan Clark, Tanner Kivol, Donovan Harkness and Bennet Burns scored in the loss for Moose Jaw.

The Mustangs 1 return to the court next Monday to host the Weyburn Thrashers, while the Mustangs 2 are off until next Wednesday when they travel to Weyburn.
