The Prairie Hockey Academy laid everything out on the ice for their final game of the season on Friday night at the Canadian Sport School Hockey League Championship.

The Cougars lost 6-5 in a shootout to the Burnaby Winter Club to finish 0-3 in the Elite 15 Division's round robin.

Kirk Mullen and Caelan Fitzpatrick scored twice each, while Hunter Weber, Christopher Otterson and Connor McGrath picked up two assists each in the loss.

Mullen and Fitzpatrick scored 55 seconds and 1:57 into the game to give the Cougars an early advantage.

Burnaby got on the board with a goal from Chase Sandhu with 8:19 into the first, but Fitzpatrick responded with his second of the game only 24 seconds later to restore the two-goal lead.

Brandon Lisowsky would respond for Burnaby with 1:43 left in the first period to make it 3-2 for PHA after one.

Burnaby tied the game just one minute into the second period on a goal from Rocco La Cara, but PHA answered back in the second half of the period with goals from Max Wanner and Mullen to take a 5-3 lead into the third.

Milo Schneidmiller pulled Burnaby within one with a goal just 2:43 into the third and then Josh Wessels scored the game-tying goal with 1:39 left in regulation.

PHA was outshot 4-3 in overtime, but neither team found the back of the net.

Mullen, Ethan Peters and Atley Calvert were stopped for PHA in the shootout, while Matthew Seminoff scored the lone goal for Burnaby to give them the win.

Nathan Airey made 38 saves in the loss for the Cougars.
