The regular season came to an end in the Moose Jaw Senior Ladies Fastball League on Monday night with a doubleheader at Caribou Heights.

The Colts clinched first place and a bye into the final with a 5-1 win over the Heat in the first game of the double-bill.

Colts pitcher Sandi Gray helped out her own cause by going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored in the win. On the mound, Grab struck out nine over seven innings of work, while holding the Heat to one run on four hits.

Ali Gallagher also drove in a pair of runs in the win for the Colts.

Amanda Robbins cashed in the Heat's lone run with a single in the seventh inning, bringing around Erin Tribier, who led off the frame with a walk.

In the second game of the doubleheader, the Hustlers smacked 19 hits on their way to a 6-5 win over the Heat.

Dawn Froats had a two-run single in the three-run first inning for the Hustlers; Nicole Ansell drove in a pair of runs in the second inning; and they finished off their scoring with an RBI-single from Krissy Russo.

After the Hustlers scored three in the first inning, the Heat answered with two in the bottom half, as Kim Michelson and Ashley Blair led off the game with a walk and single, respectively, and then both came around to score.

Shayta Freeman had an RBI-double during a two-run third inning for the Heat and they could the lead down to one in the sixth inning, but that was as close as they got.

The Hustlers and Heat will meet again on Wednesday for Game 1 of the best-of-three semifinal series. Game 2 will be on Thursday and if necessary, Game 3 goes on Monday.

The Colts await the winner in the league final, which gets underway next week.
