The Moose Jaw Warriors have a busy next month ahead and that doesn’t even include the 13 games that the team has on tap on the ice.

Their are many of off-ice promotions ahead for the organization and it all starts on Friday night at Mosaic Place when the Warriors take on the Prince George Cougars.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders will be invading Moose Jaw that night and bringing the Grey Cup trophy to the game with them.

“Fans will be able to get their picture taken with (the Grey Cup) and mix and mingle with some of the players from the game,” said Corey Nyhagen, director of business operations.

The Riders are currently on their Grey Cup tour after winning the championship back in November.  A large group of players have been travelling around to communities in the province to share the win with Rider Nation.

The list of players that will be appearing in Moose Jaw on Friday is still being finalized, but Nyhagen does know one that will be on hand.

“One that we really want to have back is our own Levi Steinhauer,” said Nyhagen.  “I’m pretty sure that we’re going to be able to secure him and the rumour mill is saying that one is going to be Geroy Simon.”

There will be a charitable aspect to the night as well with a special Riders jersey raffle during the night with proceeds benefitting STARS, the Shock Tramua Air Rescue Service.

“They’re an organization that we’ve been looking to help out, it affects everybody around the province,” said Nyhagen.  “We’ll be auctioning off Riders jerseys that night with proceeds going to the STARS foundation as well as there’s going to be some other things  throughout the night to raise money for that worthy cause.”

Nyhagen added that tickets are going fast for the game and not to wait to call the Mosaic Place Box Office to get yours.

The other big event that the Warriors have coming up will be in two weeks and is aimed towards the female fans of the team.  The tribe will be trying to put a different spin on ladies night and are hosting a Bachelor Night at the Heritage Inn.

“There’s a lot of hype of the Bachelor TV series and one thing that we’ve found with the new build and the demographic with Mosaic Place is that we’re getting a lot more ladies and families out to the games,” explained Nyhagen.  “We thought we do somethings like the men’s alumni golf tournament, so lets have the ultimate Bachelor watch party.”

The party will be happening on February 10th at the Heritage Inn and include special guest Tenley Molzahn, a Bachelor runner-up in 2010 and a contestant on the reality show Bachelor Pad.

“We’ll be talking to Tenley about just some of things that go on behind the scenes, get a little bit more insight into the show,” said Nyhagen.  “We’ll really get some insight into that and let the ladies come out who watch the show and really have a good night on the show.”

There will be door prizes, auction items and special surprises throughout the night.  Tickets are $45 and include food sampling and drink specials, as well as a ticket to the Warriors home game on February 11th, where one lucky lady will win “The Final Rose” grand prize.  Tickets are available at the Warriors office and the Heritage Inn.
