Brayden Point now has 20 goals and 44 points on the year for the Moose Jaw Warriors.

He was the last player added to the game, but Brayden Point definitely left his mark on the 2014 CHL Top Prospects Game on Wednesday night.

The Moose Jaw Warriors forward finished with one assist in a 4-3 win for Team Orr over Team Cherry in the annual game featuring the top players eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft.

Point was added as an injury replace, but didn't look out of place on the ice, creating a number of scoring chances throughout the game.

“I thought I played not bad, there's obviously things that I would change in a hockey game, but overall I thought it was a good game and a lot of fun,” said Point after joining his Warrior teammates in Portland to kick off their US Division road trip.

That was one of the benefits for Point in going to the Top Prospects Game as he got to avoid the long bus ride from Moose Jaw to Portland, but he wasn't without the travel issues of his own.  Heading to Calgary was quite the whirlwind couple days for the 17-year-old.

“Our flights were cancelled and delayed because of the storm in Calgary, but we ended up getting there and having the skills testing, that went pretty well, and then the next day we had the morning skate and the game, so it was pretty fun,” Point explained.

Being from Calgary, the game had a little extra special meaning for Point, but he said he wasn't nervous going in.

“It was in my hometown and that was just more excitement for me and it was a bigger reason why I wanted to play in that game,” said Point.  “I did a lot of the soaking in during warmups and seeing the crowd there, that was pretty awesome.

“I was just more excited than anything to play with the guys that I played with at U18s, so it was exciting more than nervous.”

The game is an all-star game of sorts, but also features players wanting to show the loads of scouts on hand what they're capable of.  Point played his game throughout the night and was able to create a number of scoring chances for himself and his linemates.

“Hopefully they liked what they saw in my game and hopefully it improves my draft stock,” said Point.  “There's still half a season left to play here and that's what I'm looking forward to.

“They got to see what I'm all about and hopefully they liked that, and I felt I played a pretty strong game, so that's good.”

Point went into the game ranked 53rd among North American skaters by the NHL Central Scouting Service.  He was also ranked 30th by TSN's director of scouting Craig Button in January's edition of Craig's List.

Point returned to the Warriors lineup on Friday night posting a goal and two points in an 8-2 loss to the Portland Winterhawks.  The tribe will be on the ice on Saturday night in Everett against the Silvertips, the Pre-Game Show is on the air at 8:40pm on Country 100.
