Twelve of the top women’s curling teams are in Assiniboia this week for the Provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Draws got underway on Wednesday in the triple-knockout event that will include a four-team page playoff.

Representing the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre at this year’s Provincial Scotties is the Barker rink that includes skip Penny Barker, third Christie Gamble, second Jenna Enge, lead Danielle Sicinski and coach Mark Lang. Barker opened the tournament with a 5-4 win over the Lorraine Schneider rink.

The winning team will go on to represent Saskatchewan at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ont from Jan. 28 to Feb. 6.
