The Assiniboia Southern Rebels kept hold of first place in the Prairie Junior Hockey League's South Division with an easy 7-2 win over the Pense Silver Foxes on Wednesday night.

Tucker Neuberger powered the Rebels to the win with one goal and four points, while Logan Skinner (2g & 1a) and Bryan Polmear (0g & 3a) each put up three points in the win.

The Rebels started strong and finished the first period with a 2-0 lead on goals from Neuberger and Kyle Yaremchuk, while firing 17 shots on the Pense goal.

They doubled the lead in the second period with goals from Derek Thomas and Skinner to sit with a 4-0 lead after two.

Pense would get on the board with a pair of goals in the third period, but the Rebels added three more from Kaelum Bieber, Skinner and Riley Malone to close out the 7-2 win.

Nate Ferris made 21 saves for the Rebels, while they were 0-for-1 in the power play.

The win improves their record to 22-6-1 on the year and gives them a two-point cushion on the Prairie Storm in the PJHL's South Division.  The Rebels will be back on the ice on Saturday when they host the Delisle Chiefs.
