The Assiniboia Southern Rebels lost a hard fought game to the Regina Capitals on Tuesday night, dropping a 3-1 game in the Queen City.

With the loss, the Rebels remain in second place in the Prairie Junior Hockey League's South Division with a 20-13-0-1 record, but they now trail Regina by 13 points for first place.

The Capitals received goals from Cody Hegion and Tristan Keshane in the second period to take a 2-0 lead. Alex Flicek answered midway through the third for Assiniboia to cut the lead to one, but a shorthanded goal by Eric Duran just over a minute later sealed the win for Regina.

The Rebels return to the ice in Assiniboia on Saturday against Tri-Town.
