The Assiniboia Southern Rebels were able to keep their undefeated start to the regular season going on Wednesday night with a 5-3 win over Fort Knox in Prairie Junior Hockey League action.

Derek Thomas had a goal and three points in the win for the Rebels, who improved to 3-0-0-0 on the year.

After a scoreless first period, Fort Knox struck first early in the second period, but two goals in the second half of the frame from Jacob Eger and Thomas put the Rebels in front.

They built on that lead in the third with a pair of goals from Devin McGonigal and Riley Malone just 20 seconds apart with 13 minutes gone in the frame. Fort Knox battled back with goals from Jarrett Metheral and Tanner Mak, but an empty net goal by McGonigal with 1:33 to go sealed the win for Assiniboia.

The Rebels return to action on Saturday when they head to Kerrobert to face the West Central Rage. They will be in Delisle to face the Chiefs on Sunday.

Seiferling Assists in Terriers Win

Moose Jaw's Regan Seiferling picked up an assist in the Yorkton Terriers 5-3 win over the Notre Dame Hounds on Wednesday night in Wilcox during Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League action.

The Terriers trailed 2-1 after one, but were able to take a 3-2 lead in the second period before finishing off the win with two more goals in the third period.

Seiferling now has two goals and seven points in 11 games this season.

Former Moose Jaw Warriors Ben Duppereault had three assists for the Hounds in the loss.
