Moose Jaw native Rodney McNabb will be in the spotlight on Friday night at Mosaic Place as he fights in the main event of XCW Fight Championship's 50th show "Redemption".  It's the first ever Mixed Martial Arts event to be held at the downtown events centre.

McNabb will be taking on Dauda Keita for the Lightweight Championship belt and hoping for a better result than his first career fight in his hometown.

"I had (a fight in Moose Jaw) once and it was my only loss I ever had," explained McNabb this week in the lead up to Friday's fight.  "I got caught within the first minute.  When I went for my big pick up and throw, he was able to capture me with a guillotine.

"Kind of hence the word redemption.  I retired as XCW Lightweight Champion and now I'm trying to get back into it."

McNabb is 5-1-1 in his career and will be going against the 4-0 Keita during the main event.  

McNabb says he's had to overcome some injuries during training in recent weeks, "(Training) went really well and then I sustained an injury to my finger, which took me out for about two weeks.  I've had some shoulder problems for a while and went to a Judo camp for a week and was wrestling around with a heavyweight and tweeked it again."

There are 11 fights in total on the card, including four MMA title fights and a Gladiator Boxing Title bout.  There are still tickets available for the event at the Mosaic Place box office.  Doors open at 6:00pm
