Campbell apologized to the Riders’ organization, his teammates and fans in a statement released by the team on Tuesday.

“I take full responsibility for my actions and ensure you it will not happen again. I accept the Canadian Football League decision and will not be appealing the two-game suspension,” said Campbell in the statement.

Riders’ general manager and head coach Chris Jones added in the media release that he’s disappointed that a member of his team tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug.

“As an organization, we fully support the CFL and CFLPA policy to prevent the use of performance-enhancing drugs,” Jones stated. “We have spoken with Bruce and he has taken ownership of his decision and realizes the impact of this violation.”

Campbell started 12 regular season games, as well as the Eastern Semifinal and Final at left tackle for the Riders in 2017. He’s scheduled to become a free agent next month.
