Riders head coach Corey Chamblin.

2013 was a big year for Corey Chamblin and that success could be spilling over into 2014.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders' head coach was announced on Monday as one of the three finalists for CFL Coach of the Year, joining Kent Austin from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Calgary Stampeders' John Hufnagel.

In his second season with the Riders, Chamblin led the team to an 11-7 regular season record and then wins in the West Division Semifinal, Final over Hufnagel and the Stamps, and eventually the 101st Grey Cup at Mosaic Stadium, beating Austin and the Tiger-Cats 45-23.

Five Riders' head coaches have previously won the CFL Coach of the Year award.

Chamblin will find out if he can become the sixth during the 53rd annual awards luncheon in Ottawa on February 5th.
