Jim Hopson helped shaped the Saskatchewan Roughriders into the Canadian Football League's premier franchise and now he'll be taking his place in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.

On Wednesday, Hopson was one of seven inductees announced by the Hall of Fame for its Class of 2019. Calgary Stampeders running back Jon Cornish, BC Lions receiver Mervyn Fernandez, Toronto Argonauts receiver Terry Greer, Winnipeg Blue Bombers receiver/defensive back Ernie Pitts, University of British Columbia coach Frank Smith, and 1988 Most Outstanding Player David Williams round out the rest of this year's induction class.

Hopson played three seasons with the Roughriders, but his biggest impact came off the field where he served as the team’s first full-time President and CEO for ten seasons. During Hopson's time leading the Riders, the team won two Grey Cup titles, became the financial leader in the CFL and built a new stadium.

The Hall of Fame induction will be held on Aug. 9 in Hamilton with the Hall of Fame Game pitting the Tiger-Cats against the B.C. Lions on Aug. 10.
