Riders head coach Corey Chamblin.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders offensive line played arguably their best game of the season last week against Calgary.  Now they will really be tested with the West Division leading BC Lions coming to Mosaic Stadium on Saturday night.

Head coach Corey Chamblin says the Lions' defensive line presents a tough test every game, "We've played them a couple of times and even with Khalif Mitchell being out, they still have some pretty good guys. Then there's the element of not knowing exactly what defence they'll run with having Solomon Elimimian, they may go back to their old 3-4 defence.

Even though Mitchell is out, the offensive line will still have to content with CFL sack leader, Keron Williams, who comes in with eight sacks on the year.  "He's just a pheominal rusher and he plays all out every play, he has a motor and he just keeps it going," said Chamblin

The Rider head coach isn't worried though and thinks his offensive line will step up to the challenge, "There a top defence, but our offensive line goes against our defensive line every day in practice, and I think we're pretty tough, they're just a bigger group, but I think we'll be ready for them."

Quarterback Darian Durant can also help in the battle against the Lions' defensive line according to Chamblin, "If we can get the ball out quick then we won't have that big of a problem, but that's a tough group.

"We just hope to minimize the sack tally against those guys.  We know that they'll get a sack or two, but we just have to make sure our schemes that we have, whether its cracking the ends and doing something, to slow them down."

The Riders are still dealing with plenty of injuries heading into one of the bigger games of the season.  Defensive tackle Keith Shologan has now been ruled out for the game with a shoulder injury suffered against Calgary and newly signed Robert Rose will fill in for him; slotback Chris Getzlaf was back at practice on Thursday and will be in the starting line up on Saturday; halfback Eddie Russ' status remains up in the air as he deals with a leg injury; and defensive tackle Mick Williams is out this week too.

Offensive lineman Brendon LaBatte is out of the line-up again this week and so to is defensive end Brent Hawkins, they both missed last week's game against Calgary as well.

Kick off is at 8:00pm on Saturday.
