The Saskatchewan Roughriders bolstered their offensive line during the 2019 CFL Supplemental Draft on Wednesday.

The Riders picked six-foot-three, 290-pounder Jake Bennett with the only pick in the draft. By using the pick, Saskatchewan forfeits their third round selection in the 2020 CFL Draft.

Bennett was a three-year starter at Colorado State, including starting all 13 games during his senior season in 2017 when the offensive line ranked fifth in the country, allowing just 1.0 sack per game.

Over his four-year career at Colorado State, Bennett played 42 total games.

Most recently, Bennett played for the Salt Lake Stallions in the AAF.

The CFL Supplemental Draft allows players who had not declared Nationals in time for the draft to be selected by teams. Riders GM Jeremy O'Day was originally a supplemental draft pick.

The Riders will return to the practice field on Thursday to start preparing for their Canada Day matchup with the Toronto Argonauts.
