The Riders take on the BC Lions at Mosaic Stadium this season. The contributions are coming from throughout the roster and it has the Saskatchewan Roughriders rolling.

The green and white picked up their fifth straight win on Sunday, knocking off the BC Lions 20-16 at BC Place, forcing Lions' president Dennis Skulsky to make good on his guarantee from earlier in the week.

The Riders used the guaranteed win as motivation to improve their record to 6-2 on the year, while the Lions dropped into last place in the CFL West Division with a 5-4 record.

It was another grind it out game for the Riders in which they trailed by four at halftime, 13-9, mostly thanks to three field goals from Chris Milo, who finished 4-for-4 on the day.

BC initially went in front 10-0 early in the first quarter after Tim Brown took a Josh Bartel punt back 75 yards for a touchdown.

Darian Durant left the game at halftime with a hand injury that will be reevaluated on the team's return to Regina. Durant's injury meant that Tino Sunseri would have to bring the Riders back.

He tried to put them in front on the first play from scrimmage in the second half, airing it out to Rob Bagg who dropped a sure touchdown. Saskatchewan didn't quit coming however and after a 48-yard field goal from Milo, Sunseri found offensive lineman Dan Clark in the end zone for a one-yard touchdown on the final play of the third quarter.

Clark's second career touchdown put the Riders in front 19-16 and the defence would hold from there, forcing a two-and-out on three of the Lions' last four drives in the fourth quarter.

Sunseri finished the game 8-of-13 passing for 86 yards and a touchdown. Durant was 9-for-15 with 104 yards.

The Riders ground game controlled the Lions throughout the evening in Vancouver as Will Ford led the way with 108 yards on ten carries. Anthony Allen got the bulk of the work late and finished with 17 carries for 83 yards as the Riders ended up with 228 rushing yards in the win.

The Lions could only muster 229 yards of total offence in the game against the stout Riders defence. Tyron Brackenridge was all over the field defensively with three tackles to with two special teams tackles and a quarterback sack. Ricky Foley and Derek Walker also picked up sacks.

Saskatchewan remains in sole possession of third place in the West Division with the win, just two points back of Edmonton and Calgary. The Riders will return to Regina on Monday afternoon and should return to practice on Wednesday to start preparations for the Labour Day Classic.
