Some of the best curlers in the province will be at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre this weekend for the seventh annual Moose Jaw Saskatchewan Men's and Women's Curling Tour Spiel.

The event will feature 12 women's teams and 13 men's teams vying for the key tour win, as well as the total prize purse of $6,650 for the men and $5,500 for the women.

Moose Jaw's Penny Barker and Lorraine Arguin will be skipping teams in the women's event, while Carson Ackerman, Stan Barnsley, David Gray, and Murray Stroeder are skipping teams in the men's draw.

Local curler Candace Newkirk is also the second with the Shalon Fleming rink, while Derek Owens is the second on the Brent Gedak rink and Ben Gamble is the third with the Steven Howard rink.

The opening draw goes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre and continues throughout the weekend with the finals on Sunday at 4 p.m.
