The 2018 Scotties Tournament of Hearts opened over the weekend and Team Saskatchewan put together a solid start to the national championship.

The Sherry Anderson rink out of Saskatchewan hit the ice in Penticton, B.C. for a pair of games over the weekend, coming away with a split.

Saskatchewan lost 12-5 to Jennifer Jones and Team Manitoba in their opening game on Saturday.  The Jones’ rink curled at 94-percent throughout the match-up.

On Sunday, Team Sask was able to bounce back with an 8-4 victory against the Northwest Territories. Anderson and company scored four in the ninth to pull away and secure the win.

Saskatchewan is back on the ice for a pair of games on Monday, they’ll face the wildcard team, skipped by Kerri Einarson, in the morning draw at 11 a.m. and then they’re back on the ice against Chelsea Duncan and Team Yukon at 9 p.m.

Einarson and Manitoba are currently leading Pool A with 2-0 records, while Alberta and Newfoundland are in top spot in Pool B with 3-0 records. Click here for the full standings and results.
