It was a busy night in the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs on Saturday, with three teams, Pittsburgh, Washington and San Jose, looking to book their ticket to the second round.

The Capitals would be the only one to successful move on.  They beat the New York Rangers 3-1 on Saturday to take their first round series four game to one.  It's a big win for the top seeded Caps who were knocked out of the Playoffs in the first round last season after winning the Presidents Trophy.

The Penguins were nowhere near advancing as they were embarassed on home-ice by the Tampa Bay Ligthning.  Tampa got two goals from Simon Gagner, Steven Stamkos and former Moose Jaw Warrior Pavel Kubina in the win.  Pittsburgh still leads the series 3-2. Game 6 goes Monday in Tampa Bay.

The Sharks were hoping to close out their series with the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night, but came up short on home-ice, falling 3-1.  Jonathon Quick made 51 saves in the win for the Kings.  Game 6 is set for Monday in San Jose with the Sharks leading the series 3-2.

Finally, the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins had another battle for the ages on Saturday night at the TD Bank Garden in Boston.  The Bruins came out top for the third straight game, beating the Habs 2-1 in double overtime.

Nathan Horton netted the winner for the Bruins 9:03 into the fifth period.  Carey Price had 49 saves in the loss, Tim Thomas stopped 44 of 45 shots for the Bruins.

They'll head back to the Bell Centre for Game 6 on Tuesday.  Boston has a 3-2 series lead.

On Sunday, Vancouver has yet another chance to close out their series in Chicago.  The Canucks led the series 3-0 before the Blackhawks stormed back to win two straight.  Elsewhere, Nashville can eliminate Anaheim in six games on home ice, while Buffalo attempts to do the same against Philly.
