Moose Jaw's Skylar Ackerman and Team Saskatchewan put together an incredible run into the gold medal game at the 2018 Canadian Under-18 Women's Curling Championship on Saturday.

Saskatchewan ended up coming just short, falling 6-3 to Nova Scotia in the final to come home with a silver medal.

After winning their first two playoff games on Friday, Saskatchewan hit the ice for a semifinal game against Alberta and stole one in the extra end to win 6-5 and advance to the final later in the day.

In the final, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia put together a back-and-forth game with the turning point being a steal of two in the sixth end for Nova Scotia. Saskatchewan was down by one heading into the eighth end and needed a steal, but gave up two more for the three-point loss.

The Ackerman rink picked up a lot of hardware this season, including the U18 provincial title and a silver medal at the Saskatchewan Winter Games.
