Moose Jaw's Reece Newkirk continued his hot start to the season with the Portland Winterhawks on Wednesday.

Newkirk had a goal and three points in Portland's 8-2 rout of the Edmonton Oil Kings.

The season-high three-point effort for Newkirk snapped a two-game pointless streak but also gave him five goals and nine points through eight games this season.
