Carl Tetachuk made 35 saves to backstop the Moose Jaw Warriors to a 3-2 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Sunday afternoon at Mosaic Place.

The win gives the Warriors three out of four points over the two weekend games.

Thomas Tien, Daemon Hunt and Eric Alarie scored in the first period to lift the Warriors to the victory.

Moose Jaw took an early penalty in the first period, but reaped the benefits as Tien scored the first of his WHL career to make it 1-0 just 2:01 into the game.

Hunt followed that up with his fourth of the season just 3:51 later to make it 2-0 for Moose Jaw just under six minutes into the game.

The Warriors would take a 3-0 lead heading into the second intermission as Alarie banged in a rebound at the side of the net for his fourth of the season.

The Hurricanes came out firing in the second period and picked up goals from Ty Nash and Jett Jones just 59 seconds apart late in the frame to make it a one-goal game after two.

Lethbridge fired 16 shots on net in the third period, but Tetachuk stood tall to hold off the Hurricanes for the victory.

Tetachuk made 28 saves over the final two periods in the win as Lethbridge outshot Moose Jaw, 37-28, in the game.

The Warriors went 0-for-1 on the power play, while killing off all four of the Hurricanes’ power play opportunities.

Moose Jaw is off now until Friday when they travel to Brandon to take on the Wheat Kings.

Coming up on Saturday, the Warriors host the Regina Pats for Hockey Fights Cancer night.
