The Regina Thunder saw their season come to an end on Sunday in the Prairie Football Conference semifinal at Mosaic Stadium.

The Thunder turned the ball over nine times in their 17-7 loss on their home turf to the Calgary Colts on Sunday.

Moose Jaw native Sawyer Buettner was pressed into action at quarterback after Regina's starter Jaeden Marwick went down with an injury.

Buettner was 16-of-34 for 187 yards, but had three interceptions in the loss.

A touchdown pass from quarterback John Kiesman to Kyle Brick gave the Colts a 7-2 lead at halftime and an interception returned for a touchdown by Dalton Winkworth put them up 14-3 after three quarters.

The Colts added a field goal in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

Moose Jaw's Levi Paul hauled in a team-high seven passes for 78 yards in the loss.

In the other semifinal, Saskatoon topped Winnipeg 49-21. The Hilltops will now host Calgary in the PFC Championship game next Sunday.
