Thursday was another busy night on the basketball courts in the Friendly City.

Four games hit the court during the night in the Moose Jaw High School Senior Basketball League with a pair at Peacock Collegiate and two in Assiniboia.

At Peacock, the Toiler girls stayed undefeated at 7-0 with a 75-48 win over the Vanier Spirits, who drop to 2-6 with the loss.

Piper Ingalls led Peacock with 13 points in the win, while Alexia Aikman added 12 and Katherine McDougall chipped in with 11.

Vanier’s Annah McDonald was the game’s top scorer with 23 points in the loss.

The Vanier Vikings went into Peacock and knocked off the Toiler boys, 70-67, in another tight boys division game.

Ronald Nyekowat led Vanier with 18 points in the win, while Riley Follensbee added 16 points and Darious Agapay scored 10 for the Vikings.

Jett Kowalchuk led all scorers with 25 points in the loss for Peacock. He was the only Toiler to crack double digits in defeat.

After a slow first offensively, Vanier outscored Peacock 47-35 in the second half to secure the win.

The Vikings improve 5-3 with the victory, while Peacock drops to 4-3.

Out in Assiniboia, the Caronport Cougars won both games over the Rockets.

The Cougar girls scored a 53-32 victory. They were led by 13 points from Keighlee Banerjee, while Natasha Pomrenke had 10 points in the loss for the Rockets.

The win puts Caronport into a tie with Assiniboia at 2-5 each.

In the boys game, the Cougars picked up an 86-73 win to improve to 2-5 on the year. The Rockets fall to 0-7.

Jude Sheppard-Hills scored 23 points to lead the way for Caronport, while Breighdy Banerjee added 22 and Kenny Buch picked up 14 in the win.

Logan Fettes finished with a game-high 36 points in the loss for Assiniboia. Marcus Navato helped out with 19 points.

The league will take a break next week and then return on Feb. 27 for the final action of the regular season with the Central Cyclones hosting the Rockets and Peacock heading out to Caronport.
